LICENSE PREREQUISITES

Applicants must satisfy certain requirements in order to be considered for licensure in Wyoming. Persons whose licenses have been cancelled will be required to start from scratch, taking all of applicable Course I and Course II and pass the applicable exam.  Persons holding a license in another state will have to provide proof that you were actively licensed for 2 of the 4 years immediately preceding application in Wyoming.

Salesman Applicants (never held a license)

Must take ALL of Salesman I and Salesman II; and pass the State AND National exams.

Salesman Applicants (holds equal license in resident state)

Must take Wyoming Law portion of Salesman I and ALL of Salesman II; and pass the State exam.

Broker Applicants (upgrading from a Salesman license)

Must take ALL of Broker I and Broker II; and pass the State AND National exams.  Responsible Brokers must also take the 8 Hour Wyoming Broker Management class.

Broker Applicants (holds equal license in resident state)

Must take Wyoming Law portion of Broker I and ALL of Broker II; and pass the State exam.  Responsible Brokers must also take the 8 Hour Wyoming Broker Management class.

Persons with a Degree in Real Estate

Prior to taking any pre-licensing course, provide transcript to the Wyoming Real Estate Commission for review and approval by the Director

CORPORATION, PARTNERSHIP OR LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (LLC) - Must be registered with the Wyoming Secretary of State to do business in Wyoming.

• Responsible broker of the company must be elected as an officer or director of the corporation, partner of the partnership or member of the LLC (Commission Rules & Regulations, section 8(e)(i) and (ii)).

• Need Minutes appointing you as the responsible broker for the corporation, partnership or LLC and naming you as an officer, partner or member.

• Minutes must be signed by corporate president and attested to by corporate secretary.

• If responsible broker is going to do business using a trade name or “dba” which is different from the corporation name, the corporate minutes must reflect the “dba” or trade name to be used.
