Continuing education certificates cannot be older than January 1st of your last 3-year renewal cycle. (Example: On December 15, 2008, you renewed your 2009-2011 real estate license; you continue to renew on inactive status; and your real estate license has been inactive since 1989) To activate your license today, you will need to submit 45 hours of continuing education that cannot be dated further back than January 1, 2006. CAUTION: YOU WILL THEN NEED ANOTHER 45 HOURS BY DECEMBER 31, 2011 TO RENEW YOUR REAL ESTATE LICENSE ACTIVE FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS.
