FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does the responsible broker need to sign Associate Broker/Salesman’s renewal forms?
No. It is not necessary for the responsible broker to sign on their renewal form.
I received my license after January 1, 2013, do I need to renew by December 31, 2013.
Yes. Your original license will expire in the same year it is issued.
I received my license after January 1, 2013; do I need to submit continuing education hours?
No. Proof of continuing education is not required when you are renewing your license for the first time.
What do I attach for proof of continuing education?
Please attach a copy of certificates for each of your courses, if not already on the CE Upload program. Please make sure your credit hours total a minimum of forty-five (45) hours (53 hours for Responsible Brokers). The courses must have been taken during the period of January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2013.
I have taken over 45 hours of continuing education for this renewal period. Do the extra hours carry over to the next renewal period?
No. Continuing education credit hours DO NOT carry over into the next renewal period.
I took continuing education courses during the same year my license was originally issued. Can these course hours be used to renew my license at the end of the first 3-year renewal period?
No. Continuing Education credit hours DO NOT carry over into the next renewal period.
I have taken continuing education courses in another state. Can these courses be used for continuing education credit to renew my license in Wyoming?
Wyoming will accept:
1. Any course that was taken in the classroom (physically) and approved by the other licensing jurisdiction; and
2. Any course, online or otherwise, that has been submitted and received approval from the Wyoming Real Estate Commission. (See Approved Course List on website)
3. You will have to come to Wyoming to complete the 24 hours of Wyoming’s required courses.I have a non-resident license. I have completed some internet based continuing education courses. Will you accept these courses to renew my non-resident Wyoming real estate license?
Wyoming will accept:

What do I attach for proof of errors and omissions insurance coverage?
If you are insured through Williams Underwriting Group, they will automatically notify the Commission of your insurance. If you are insured with any other insurance company, attach a copy of your Certificate of Coverage (for a sample E & O form click here). The required amounts are $100,000/$500,000. TO AVOID YOUR REAL ESTATE LICENSE BEING PLACED ON AN INACTIVE STATUS AND PAYING ASSOCIATED FEES, YOU NEED TO ALLOW TIME FOR YOUR E & O INSURANCE PROVIDER TO PROCESS YOUR INSURANCE RENEWAL - DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE.
How many continuing education hours are required to renew my license?
45 continuing education hours are required to renew a three year license. 24 hours of required courses and 21 hours of elective courses. Responsible Brokers need the additional 8 hour Wyoming Resposible Broker course. Other licensees may use the broker management course for 8 hours of elective credit. If you still need continuing education please refer to the Continuing Education Calendar. Beginning in 2013, completion of the Wyoming Brokerage Management Course will be a pre-requisite for becoming a responsible broker.
Do you accept payment of my renewal fee via credit card?
Yes, however, you MUST include the credit card authorization form with your renewal form. In light of security issues, credit card authorization forms MUST be mailed or faxed. The form must be completed in its entirety and it will be destroyed after processing.
