Per Executive Order 2006-1, the GIS Oversight Committee shall provide policy level direction and promote efficient and effective use of resources for matters related to geographic information. This committee shall include five individuals appointed by the Governor to represent the GIS Community, one member of the Technical Advisory Group, and the State CIO in a non-voting, ex-officio capacity.
Appointments for voting membership are for two year terms. On December 31, 2011, two of the five appointments expire. Prior to expiration, these volunteer positions are to be advertised to the general public, and all parties interested in serving on the GIS Oversight Committee are encouraged to apply. The Office of the Governor will review all qualified candidates and make a selection that is considered to be in the best interest of the State of Wyoming.
