Education and Training

Currently, software courses are being offered in the Microsoft Office Suite version 2007.  Full course enrollment is generally 5 days in length.  While an individual may register in one or two days of any course, please know that course essentials are provided in days one and two.  All courses assume proficiency at operating a computer and mouse but no requisite knowledge of the course content is necessary.   Should you need to create professional, multi-sourced reports, you may request instruction in the "gold star" of reporting programs: Crystal Reports. Training in our 4-day Crystal Reports Quick Start course provides a thorough understanding of the program and its formulas.  For your project management requirements, we offer a 3-day course in the program Microsoft Project. The student will master the project management process with methods to store, track, import, export, analyze and create reports on critical data. When your office has the need to create newsletters, booklets, books, and other types of publications, we offer a 3-day study of Microsoft Publisher.  For all our course training, the computer lab is located in room B11, the lower floor of the Emerson Building. There is one computer for each student and ALL training material is included in the cost of your training. The course calendar is available online to view upcoming classes. You must be pre-registered to attend course training.  Registration may be completed online.

Pamela Girt is our instructor for all the course training.  Pam is the Technology Training Coordinator for the Department of Administration and Information. While Pam has provided software instruction for the Training Unit for eleven years as an independent contractor, she has recently joined the state as an employee in the Department of A&I. Pam wants to invite discussion regarding the customization of training for your agency. You may design a class structure that covers specifically what you determine necessary in your office environment. Your customized class session may be a half day or full day in length.  We encourage online registration.

Please call 307-777-6721 or email at pamela.girt@wyo.gov to set up an appointment to discuss a customized approach to identify your training needs. We will be introducing some new ideas to better meet your agency training requirements as we enter this new decade. Watch for online course instruction coming soon!  Pam encourages your input.
